Welcome to the Steyning Probus Club.

The Probus club movement was formed in the United Kingdom in 1965 and in its beginning was created by members of Rotary Clubs, these being Welwyn Garden City and Caterham. The movement expanded into New Zealand, Australia and Canada in the early 1970’s and has since spread to other parts of Europe, Asia, South Africa and America. There are over 2000 clubs in the UK alone.

Nationally, Probus brings together like-minded retired and semi-retired men who join together in autonomous clubs throughout the UK, and the world, with the basic purpose of providing regular gatherings of persons who, in retirement, appreciate and value opportunities to meet others in similar circumstances and of a similar level of interest. Steyning Probus has exactly the same principles of friendship, fellowship and support and is a vibrant, forward-looking Club that thrives on friendship and compatibility with a consistent level of humour and laughter.

Steyning Probus meets on the first Monday of the month, at the Steyning Centre, for lunch and to listen to a speaker on a wide range of topics. There is also a summer buffet and Christmas lunch which wives, partners and widows attend.

There are many events organised during the year from days out to 4-5 day holidays.
If you are interested in joining please contact the Membership Secretary who will invite you to join us for a lunch to give you a flavour of the club and its members.
